My Airman working on his plane at Sheppard Air Force base in Texas

Friday, April 30, 2010

B-52 Bomber Jet. This is the type of plane Jared will work on. He does everything from Mechanical/Electrical engineering to Bomb Maintenance. Working with Nuclear weapons gives Jared special clearance, hazard pay, PRP status, and extra vacation time. Another great perk is that Jared is assined to his own plane, which means the Air Force will put jareds name on that plane. He has his own plane because the Air Force assined his job as Crew Chief!! This is a huge job! Taking care of his own plane, teaching the crew what to do, and where to go. He gets to know the pilot first hand meaning, before the plain takes off, the pilot will talk to Jared and make sure everything is correct, and only talk Jared.  Its a lot of responsibility, but with that responsibility comes great rewards. Having a bond with his plane, crew, and pilot, I think is a great reward.... And I get to have a happy Airman at home. :)
Now this plane has a lot of history with our family. Jared's Grandfather Flew this type of plane. I think they are called B-25's. We had to get a picture with Jared next to it.
Standing in front of another plane they had on display.
Jared receiving his coin at his first ceremony. He has to have that coin on him at all times. Its shows his love and respect for the Air Force.
  Our first hug!
Lackland AFB, TX.
What a FUN time we all had!! The ceremonies were beautiful, San Antonio was awesome!! Most of all, seeing my husband for the first time in a long time was the greatest feeling ever. Above are some pictures of our fun together...

Jared's first two weeks at Boot Camp. He is doing wonderfully. He has gotten past all his medical and dental. He had all of his shots taken care of, so he is a little sore right now. He has also completed the obstacle course, self defense, combat training and the gas camber. All that's left for him, is more physical training and classes. His classes are mostly on the history of the Air Force and all the basic background of military life. I miss him so much, and can't wait for his return.

This picture was taken about thirty minutes before me and Jared's first date. We went to Krikorian Premiere Theater, and watched Beowulf. After the "interesting" first date movie, he took me to Orange County to meet some of his friends at TGI Fridays for a great dinner. We had so much fun that night!! November 22nd 2007
This picture of Jared was taken about a year ago. Now that he is in boot camp he is completely bald ha ha. I love this picture of him. 2009

How We Met....

Fiery leaves of autumn
Flashing in the sun,
Spiral slowly earthward,
Drifting one by one.

They weave a forest carpet,
Of yellow, orange, and red,
To hold the snows of winter,
When the last leaf is shed.

The first smell of fall did it. The beauty that the world conveys around us that time of year, is the season of love. I have met Jared once or twice before but nothing ever came of it. We were both always away in the summer working and what not, but always came back to town for that wonderful time of Thanks and Giving. I guess you can say that's why I love Autumn so much, the smell, sounds and change in our atmosphere brings all of us closer together. At least it was for me and Jared two and a half years ago.
The Festival of Lights in riverside always started a few days after Thanksgiving, but two years ago, they decided to change the date of that fair to the day after Thanksgiving, taking away my families time together to sit as one and enjoy each others company. Instead, that day was filled with cleaning, packing, setting up, and baking to start selling our famous food the next day. I was upset, and made my complaints known on the internet, (Oh how I love Facebook). That's when I got a message from Jared offering his house to my siblings and I to join him and his family for Thanksgiving dinner. It was such a fun night, and we greatly appreciate his family for letting us spend time with them and feel the joy of Autumn again. After that night Jared and I started dating. We both moved to Utah the same time, he to go to the U of U and me to gain more work experience in my career field. One day I woke up to a note on my door that read... 'Good morning my love, I have a special task for you today, so get up, put on something nice and I will see you soon.' The next line had a riddle that concluded to the first date we ever went on. As the day progressed I found more and more riddles. The last riddle led me to our favorite Park in Utah. He was sitting in a gazebo across the lake playing a song he wrote for me on Valentines day. After the song he proposed to me with the ring I picked out weeks prior. It was one of the best days of our lives. We were married May 21st 2009 in the beautiful town of Oak Glenn. above are some pictures of our journey of dating, marriage, and life in the Air Force.
