My Airman working on his plane at Sheppard Air Force base in Texas

Friday, April 30, 2010

B-52 Bomber Jet. This is the type of plane Jared will work on. He does everything from Mechanical/Electrical engineering to Bomb Maintenance. Working with Nuclear weapons gives Jared special clearance, hazard pay, PRP status, and extra vacation time. Another great perk is that Jared is assined to his own plane, which means the Air Force will put jareds name on that plane. He has his own plane because the Air Force assined his job as Crew Chief!! This is a huge job! Taking care of his own plane, teaching the crew what to do, and where to go. He gets to know the pilot first hand meaning, before the plain takes off, the pilot will talk to Jared and make sure everything is correct, and only talk Jared.  Its a lot of responsibility, but with that responsibility comes great rewards. Having a bond with his plane, crew, and pilot, I think is a great reward.... And I get to have a happy Airman at home. :)
Now this plane has a lot of history with our family. Jared's Grandfather Flew this type of plane. I think they are called B-25's. We had to get a picture with Jared next to it.
Standing in front of another plane they had on display.
Jared receiving his coin at his first ceremony. He has to have that coin on him at all times. Its shows his love and respect for the Air Force.
  Our first hug!
Lackland AFB, TX.
What a FUN time we all had!! The ceremonies were beautiful, San Antonio was awesome!! Most of all, seeing my husband for the first time in a long time was the greatest feeling ever. Above are some pictures of our fun together...
